RN (Registered Nurse) - Admissions Med Surg

Location: Fargo, North Dakota Contract Length: 13 weeks Hours: 36 per week, 12-hour shifts Shift: Day/Night rotating

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of medical/surgical experience
• Level I Trauma Center experience
• BLS certification through AHA
• Ability to work in a busy, fast-paced environment

Unit Details

• 15-bed medical/surgical unit, all private rooms
• Takes patients who are ready for discharge from the ER but have not yet been assigned to a specific unit
• Responsibilities include performing initial admissions and caring for patients until they transfer to their new unit
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 5:1 days, 6:1 nights
• May float to other medical/surgical units as needed
• Systems used: Epic (EMR software familiarity, not a credential), Zebra phones for communication, Omnicell for medications, Aleris IV pumps

Schedule and Eligibility

• Shifts: 12 hours (0700-1930 or 1900-0730)
• Every other weekend and every other holiday
• No call
• Will consider 48 (as written in the source)
• Cannot take RTO for Thanksgiving
• Cannot take any travelers living within a 60-mile radius of the facility

• Navy blue scrubs
