Interventional Radiology

Location: Haymarket, Virginia Employment type: Travel/Contract Contract length: 13 weeks Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology Shift: Day, 4x10-hour shifts (8:30 to 18:30), 40 hours per week

Role Overview

• Provides care to patients undergoing peripheral vascular, interventional, and vascular procedures.
• Collaborates with physicians and team members to assess, implement, and evaluate patient care according to current policies and procedures.
• The technologist positions serve two facilities within the health system.
• Includes one weeknight of call, with a call rotation every 4 to 5 weeks.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in Virginia
• Interventional Radiology Technologist (2 years of experience)
• Interventional Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
• BLS
• ARRT
• High school diploma or associate's degree
• Experience with Epic

Onboarding Requirements

• Background and verification:

  • Criminal background check within 90 days of start, updated annually. Instant statewide checks are not acceptable.
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start.
  • Proof of highest degree earned (transcript or diploma), with education verification required.
  • Government-issued photo ID and E-Verify proof.
• Health and immunizations:

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start.
  • Negative QuantiFERON-Gold (QFT) test within 30 days of start. PPD and T-SPOT are not accepted. A past positive QFT requires proof, a chest X-ray within 1 year, and an annual TB survey.
  • Annual TB screening questionnaire.
  • Rubeola, mumps, rubella, and varicella immunity: titer, 2-dose vaccine series, or past lab evidence. Declinations are not accepted.
  • Hepatitis B immunity: titer, 3-dose series, or past lab evidence. A facility-specific declination form is required if titers are negative or equivocal.
  • Flu vaccination or facility-approved medical/religious exemption for the 2026-27 season. Flu season starts 09/16, and documentation is due by 10/31. Declinations are not accepted. Exemptions must be renewed annually.
  • N95 fit test within 1 year of start, renewed annually, using 3M 1870+, 3M 1860 small, or 3M 1860 regular.
• Drug screen: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start. A positive THC result requires a Virginia medical marijuana card.
• Documents and other:

  • Two professional references from the same unit or specialty, dated within 2 years of start.
  • Employment application.
  • Skills checklist, updated annually.
  • Badge photo, sent before the deadline the week prior to start.
