ICU RN (Travel/Contract)

Location: Laurinburg, North Carolina Contract Length: 13 weeks Schedule: Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM), 36 hours per week

Role Details

• ICU RN needed; will also work PCU/stepdown.
• First-time travelers are accepted.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience: 1 year, with ICU experience within the last year
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or United States Department of Defense
• BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or United States Department of Defense
• NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)

Additional Certifications (As Required by Unit)

• PALS, NRP, TNCC, and NIH stroke certification. Check the unit description to confirm which are required.

Background and Verification

• 7-year criminal background check, completed within one year of start and updated annually, covering all locations lived or worked in the past 7 years
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks, completed within 30 days of start and updated at each renewal or extension
• Education verification or diploma/transcript for highest degree
• E-Verify proof or attestation
• Government-issued photo ID, carried during all hours of service

Health Requirements

• Physical exam with physician statement within the last 12 months (not required annually)
• TB: Negative PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot within 1 year of start, updated annually. Positive PPD requires a chest X-ray within 5 years. An annual TB questionnaire is accepted in lieu of TB testing for anyone who received a COVID-19 vaccine in the last 4 weeks.
• Measles, mumps, and rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer (candidates born before 1957 are exempt)
• Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination
• Varicella: 2 vaccines, titer, or history of chickenpox
• 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start (instant drug screen accepted; not required annually)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption. Declinations are not accepted. Flu season runs 10/1 to 3/31, and new candidates starting 10/1 or later must provide proof before start.

Onboarding and Documentation

• Pass/fail onboarding test (3 attempts allowed)
• Employment application or resume
• 2 professional references within 2 years of start
