RN - Emergency Department

Location: Radcliff, Kentucky Specialty: Hospital, Direct Patient Care (Nursing), Emergency Department Employment Type: Clinical, Nursing Contract Length: 13 weeks

Schedule

• Shift: 3x12, 3 p.m. to 3 a.m., with weekend and holiday rotation
• 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Role Summary

The RN implements professional nursing practice centered on the whole patient and a caring environment focused on healing and wellness. Nursing practice is based on evidence, current research, hospital and department policies, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments, considering culture, age, and developmental level
• Develop problem lists, determine desired outcomes with patient and family, and implement care therapies and procedures
• Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition
• Explain procedures and treatments to patients and families, and address their educational needs
• Delegate tasks and oversee team members' patient care activities
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge, including discharge teaching and coordination with Case Management
• Participate in unit quality improvement and core measures, such as patient satisfaction, patient falls, pressure ulcers, CAUTIs, and documentation auditing

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Kentucky
• Emergency Department experience within the last year (1 year of experience)
• BLS certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
