RN Med/Surg

Location: Panama City, Florida Specialty: RN Medical/Surgical Unit: General Med/Surg unit Employment Type: LTA Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: 18:45 - 07:15 Schedule: Every other weekend required

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Florida
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Med Surg experience (2 years)
• Med Surg experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), required by onboarding
• Driver's License

Required Documents for Submission

• Resume or profile
• Two professional references, completed before the first assignment
• Clinical skills checklist, completed within one year of the start date and updated annually

Onboarding Requirements

Health and Immunizations

• Documented two MMR vaccines or positive IgG titer, no declinations accepted (if titer is negative, two doses of MMR four weeks apart)
• Hepatitis B vaccine series (3 doses) or a signed and dated declination
• Influenza vaccine for the season October 1, 2026 through March 31, 2027; declinations accepted, but the candidate must wear a mask at all times
• Varicella immunity documentation (two vaccines, serologic evidence, or provider-verified history), no declinations accepted
• Tdap, valid 10 years from administration date, no declinations or attestations accepted
• Two-step PPD or negative IGRA (within the required timeframes), with TB questionnaire updated annually
• Health statement or physical exam before the first assignment, updated annually
• Color vision test completed before start and updated every 3 years
• Respirator fit test completed before start (can be completed onsite) and updated annually; PAPR fit testing is not completed onsite. WI and MI require 3M 1860 Regular, 3M 1860 Small, or 3M 1870+.
• 11-panel drug screen within 30 days before the first assignment, updated annually

Competencies and Training

• Core competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics) completed within one year of start, updated every 3 years, minimum 80% passing score, two attempts allowed
• EKG exam with a minimum 80% passing score, two attempts allowed, updated every 3 years
• Nova StatStrip pre-hire modules completed before clearance, required annually
• Nursing contract worker onboarding (completed onsite) and the education attestation from the pre-hire modules, uploaded by the agency

Background and Verification

• Criminal background check, with Social Security trace, OIG, and National Sex Offender searches; completed within 90 days of first assignment and updated yearly
• EPLS check within 90 days of start, rerun after a break in service over 90 days
• Education verification within 90 days of start (diplomas not accepted)
• Third-party employment verification for the past seven years, updated yearly
• Confirmation of assignment on agency letterhead, updated with each extension
• Valid driver's license or state ID, front and back, matching the address on file

• Forward-facing badge photo with a white or blue background, no filters

Optional Items

• Unit-specific checklist, which the unit leader must upload within one week
• Positive TB result documentation (IGRA or PPD results, chest X-ray within one year, and TB questionnaire)
• Legal documentation of name change
