Description

Registered Nurse – Operating Room

Location: Allentown, Pennsylvania

Assignment Details

Contract length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day, 4x10-hour shifts per week (11:00 to 21:30), 40 hours per week
On-call: Required as needed based on department needs
Weekends: Coverage required as needed based on department needs
Block schedule: Requests should be sent with the submittal
Time off: One pre-approved time-off request per contract; RTO must be approved prior to start
Scrubs: Provided by the facility
Locals: Accepted
First-time travelers: Not accepted

Unit Information

Level I Trauma Center
24 main operating rooms, including a designated trauma OR adjacent to the trauma bay
2 hybrid operating rooms used for endovascular and structural heart procedures
Patients include neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
Travelers must be able to scrub and circulate across multiple service lines

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Pennsylvania
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
One completed travel assignment
Minimum 2 years of general Operating Room (OR) experience
Operating Room experience within the last year
BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
NIHSS certification
Ability to scrub
Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
Experience in the trauma setting with amputation cases
Experience in the trauma setting with gunshot and stab wound cases
Experience in the trauma setting with multiple-injury motor vehicle accident (MVA) cases
Experience working with Neuro patients
Experience with robotic surgery
Experience in a teaching hospital setting
Orthopedics experience
Experience with Epic
