RN - Emergency Dept
Location: Hickory, North Carolina Employment Type: Travel Contract Length: 13 weeks Openings: 1
Schedule and Hours
- Shift: 11a-11p
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
- Weekends: rotate every other weekend
- Call: push back hours depending on census
- Orientation: travelers must start on December 7th (2026 orientation schedule)
Unit Details
- Unit: Emergency Department
- Trauma level: Does not designate, but receives all trauma patients
- Beds: 32
- Patient ratios: 1-4, 1-5
- Equipment: Critical care equipment
- Patient population: Birth to death
- Float: Helping hands in areas where the nurse has competencies
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- ED - Emergency Department (2 years of experience)
- ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- ACLS
- PALS or ENPC
- BLS
- NIHSS
- HWC or Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (CPI)
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience with Cerner
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a fast-paced ED
- Experience with strokes, STEMIs, and trauma
Travel Requirements
- Not open to first-time travelers
- No holiday RTO
Dress Code
- Scrub color: any at this time
- Unacceptable attire: hoodies, inappropriate t-shirts, and similar items
