Location: Peoria, Illinois Employment Type: Clinical-Nursing Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Night (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Role Overview

The staff Registered Nurse is a professional caregiver who takes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care using the nursing process, nursing trends, technology, and financial and human resources.

Key Responsibilities

• Performs all responsibilities and duties required by the unit within the scope of service, and implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.
• Completes initial patient assessments on admission and develops and implements a plan of care based on patient and family needs and unit standards, modifying it through continuous evaluation.
• Implements nursing interventions and patient care procedures.
• Maintains up-to-date, accurate documentation of nursing care.
• Takes responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and correcting hazards and incidents.
• Communicates directly and privately with others when needed to resolve issues.
• Offers constructive feedback to support peers' professional development, confers with colleagues, identifies own learning needs, and fulfills all departmental competency requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of relevant nursing experience
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Valid Illinois RN license in good standing
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Three (3) years of telemetry experience, with telemetry experience within the last year
• Cardiology experience
