Angio/Interventionalist

Location: Golden, Colorado Employment type: Clinical, non-nursing Contract length: 13 weeks

Role Summary

Completes angiography procedures, including scrubbing, setting up techniques, and taking images.

Responsibilities

• Provides procedural assistance as a circulating tech, scrub tech, or monitoring tech per Angio lab policies and Scope of Practice documents.
• Operates IR equipment to produce quality images.
• Verifies patient identity and orders, prepares patients for exams, and provides patient education.
• Follows radiation safety guidelines and protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, and QC programs.
• Sutures or removes the sheath and applies pressure to achieve hemostasis at the end of procedures.
• Documents patient information, procedures, adverse reactions, and incidents, and communicates with other providers.
• Transports patients and maintains the work area and supplies.
• Assists with SIRT mapping/treatments, embolizations, neph and biliary tube placements, and CT-guided procedures (drains, biopsies, ablations).
• Performs Neuro-IR stroke and diagnostic procedures.

Schedule

• Shift: 3 or 4 10-hour day shifts per week, plus call
• Hours: 10 hours per day, 40 hours per week
• On call: Usually 1 weekday shift per week and 1 weekend per month

Requirements

• Interventional Radiology Technologist with 1-2 years of experience, including experience within the last year
• ARRT(R) (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
• BLS issued by the American Heart Association
• Experience working with vascular patients
