Cardiovascular Sonographer

Location: Smithfield, North Carolina Contract Length: 13 weeks Employment Type: Clinical-Allied Shift: Days, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (8 hours/day, 40 hours/week)

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-procedure and post-procedure patient care, including patient assessment and emergency cardiac care. Assist with post-procedure transport when required.
• Generate ultrasound images of the heart and/or vascular structures.
• Perform outpatient cardiac ultrasound (echocardiography).
• Calibrate, maintain, and perform quality assurance monitoring on equipment daily. Troubleshoot problems and report them to the supervisor.
• Monitor and record patient information, maintain report storage and data systems, compile data for charge entry, prepare reports, and retrieve stored information.
• Prepare the procedure room and equipment for daily use and turn rooms over efficiently between procedures.
• May perform staff training and education.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Cardiac Sonographer experience, with Cardiac Sonographer experience within the last year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Registered as an RDCS or RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer), ACS, or RCCS through ARDMS or CCI.
• Associate's degree in sonography, radiology, or a related field, or completion of a twelve-month ultrasound program.
• Experience with Epic.
