Overview
- Location: Redwood City, California
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Days
- Hours per week: 40
Unit / Setting
- Unit: OR
- 4 beds in the main OR and 8 beds in the pavilion
Required Qualifications
- BLS certification
- At least 2 years of OR experience
Preferred
- Can scrub
- Cerner Surginet experience
- Experience with CV cases
- Experience with robotic cases
Schedule / Call
- 1 shift of call per week and every 4th weekend
- No evenings
- No weekends
- Weekend requirement is not required
Additional Role Details
- Charge nurse does not take patients/cases
- Scrub techs are used
- Floating is not required
- Scrub color is provided by the hospital
- 1 week of paperwork orientation and 1 week partnered with a preceptor
Case Mix
- Main OR: mostly ortho cases, including totals such as hips, knees, and joints
- Pavilion: neuro and ortho spine, CV cases, general, gynecology, urology, and ENT
- 15–25 cases per day
- 400 cases per month
- 20–25% of cases are inpatient
- Critical patients go directly to ICU from the OR
