3S PCU RN
Overview

- Hours: 12-hour shifts, 48 hours per week
- Contract length: 6 weeks
Unit Details
- Unit: PCU
- Beds: 12
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 3:1
- Charge nurse: Present on each shift and takes an assignment
- Patient care techs: Present on the unit
- Floating: As needed; first to float
Patient Population
- Medical
- Neurosurgery
- Cardiac
- Post-cath patients with TR bands
Required Qualifications
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA)
- Ability to titrate drips
- BiPAP experience
Clinical Skills / Equipment
- Titrate drips
- Cardene and Cardizem drips
- CPAP
- BiPAP
- High flow
- Troubleshoot respiratory equipment
Schedule Requirements
- Weekend requirement: 4 weekends in 6 weeks
- Holiday requirement: 1 major and 1 minor holiday
- Scheduling: As needed by the unit
Orientation
- 1 or 2 shifts of unit/department-specific orientation
Additional Notes
- Post-cath patients may have TR bands
- Cath lab pulls sheaths
