CST/ORT - OR
Location: Austin, Texas Employment Type: Travel Contract Length: 13 weeks Hours per Week: 36
Schedule
- Fri-Sun, 6:30P-7:00A
- No on-call required
- Shifts: 6:30-3p, 11-7p, 7a-7p, 7p-7a, 12:30-11p
- Call requirements: 4 days for day shift, 1 day for evening. CVOR has 10 days.
Unit Details
- Unit: Surgery, Central 1st Floor (1st and 4th Floor), Main building
- Beds: 14 ORs (2 heart rooms, 1 of which doubles as Hybrid)
- Staff: 120 total
- Day shift: 1 charge, 16 RNs, 16 Techs, Attendants, Anes techs
- Night shift: 2 RNs and 2 Techs
- Patient ratio: 1 to 1
- Equipment: Surgical, including robotics (Xi, SP, Mako, and DV5)
- Permanent positions on unit: Yes
- Typical procedures: General, GYN, Neuro, Ortho, Plastics, Vascular, ENT, Urology
- Scrub color: Ciel Blue (provided)
- Recognition: 3 x Unit of Distinction award winners
Role Description
- Description notes general trauma, ortho trauma, vascular, neuro, or robotics as necessary in this role.
- Most recruited for: Travel RNs, local CNAs, and sitters.
- Best personality fit: Flexible and positive attitude.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technician (CST) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Certified Surgical Technologist experience of at least 1 year, including experience within the last year
- Experience working with Ortho Trauma patients
- Experience working with Vascular patients
- Experience working with Neuro patients
