Description
In Patient Rehab RN
Overview
- Location: Omaha, Nebraska
- Setting: Inpatient rehab
- Unit size: 35 beds
- Patient population: Adults and geriatrics with stroke, SCI, amputee, BI, critical illness, and neurological disease such as MS and Parkinsons
- Ratios: Days 1:5; Nights 1:6
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Schedule: Cyclic self-scheduling
- Weekend requirement: At minimum every 3rd weekend
- Holiday requirement: At minimum 2 holidays
- Floating: MedSurg
- Orientation: Classroom orientation plus 2 unit-based 12-hour shifts
Required Qualifications
- RN license
- BLS certification
- Driver’s license at submittal
- Must pass an open-book exam during orientation with a score of 90% or higher
- Must be outside the 50-mile radius
- Cannot be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity
Unit Details
- Charge nurse on each shift
- Nurse aids/patient care techs are present, with ratios of 1:10-15
- RNs are not required to titrate drips
- Common drips include antibiotics, anticoagulation, and antiplatelets
Additional Notes
- Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
- RTO must be submitted upfront; 7 or fewer days are allowed per 13-week contract
- Additional RTO will not be approved after submission
- Successful candidates should have strong communication, organization, teamwork, problem-solving, compassion, inclusion, integrity, excellence, and collaboration
