NICU Night Shift Travel RN (Registered Nurse)

Location: Renton, Washington Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts Schedule: 3x12s per week, 4-week schedules (36 hours per week)

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Washington
• 2 years of Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU) experience
• NICU experience within the last year
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with NAVA ventilation
• Experience with high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC)
• Experience with CPAP
• Experience with Epic

Unit Details

• Level of NICU: 2
• Beds: Listed as "20 12" in the source (unclear)
• Ratios: 1:1 to 1:3, depending on acuity and staffing
• Common diagnoses: Extremely premature/premature patients, BPD, HIE, feeding intolerance, respiratory support, sepsis/meningitis, NOWS/ESC, hyperbilirubinemia
• Respiratory equipment: HFOV, HFJV, conventional vent, CPAP, HFNC, NC
• Telemetry: Yes, nurses read strips (no monitor techs)
• Nurse aides: None on this unit
• Neonatologist coverage: In house 24/7 (neonatologist, not ARNP/PA)
• Charge nurse/house supervisor: Both roles are used

Scheduling and Coverage

• Weekends: Can be every weekend
• Holidays: Possible, individualized to the contract based on scheduling need
• Call/standby: If not needed, the nurse will be placed on standby

Float Scope

• Can float to pediatrics to care for NICU graduates
• Can float to care for any patient until 12 months of age
• May be assigned as a 1:1 sitter for a behavioral health patient PRN to help with well baby care

• Software familiarity: EPIC experience is required (software familiarity, not a certification)
• Orientation: 1-2 shifts, 1900-0730
• Dress code: Royal blue scrubs
