Dialysis RN
Overview
- Travel/contract RN role in Wilmington, North Carolina
- Day shift: 3x12, 6:45 AM–7:15 PM
- 36 hours per week
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- First-time travelers accepted
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- 2 years of dialysis experience
- Dialysis experience within the last year
- Acute hemodialysis experience
- Experience with Fresenius hemodialysis equipment
- Experience with Baxter peritoneal dialysis equipment
Preferred
- CDN or CNN
- ACLS
- CAPD experience
Schedule and Work Expectations
- Float as needed
- On-call required on Sundays from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM as part of the RN Sunday rotation
- Every other weekend required
- May be assigned support tasks in another department if there are no peritoneal dialysis or hemodialysis patients
- May be assigned to work during a storm team, hurricane team, catastrophic event, mass casualty, or disaster
- Consolidation to the centralized office may occur mid-contract, with preassignment to units as needed
Unit Details
- Acute hemodialysis unit with 9 stations and 1 isolation station
- Hemodialysis room runs two shifts per day
- ICU/PCU and bedside treatments are 1:1
- Patient transport is requested through Epic
Equipment and Systems
- Fresenius T hemodialysis machines with CliC and Bibag
- Marcor Millenium HX portable reverse osmosis machines
- Pyxis
- EPIC Dimensions
- Voalte phone for verbal report
Orientation
- 24 hours total
- 12 hours ICU/offsite
- 12 hours dialysis room/peritoneal dialysis
Additional Notes
- RTO after booking is not allowed
- Scrubs provided
