PCU RN
Location
- Federal Way, Washington
Assignment Details
- 13-week contract
- 12-hour day shifts
- 36 hours per week
- Primary unit: PCU
- 24 beds
- Ratios: 1:3-4
Required Qualifications
- PCU experience
- RN license
- ACLS
- BLS
- NIHSS
Unit Information
- Common patient types include pneumonia, ARDS, Covid-19 infection, HTN urgency, angina, cardiac cath patients, and ETOH withdrawal
- RN titration of drips is required
- Common titratable or set-rate drips include amiodarone, diltiazem, dopamine, nitroglycerin, Lasix, and dobutamine
- Remote monitor techs are used with RN approval
- 24/7 charge nurse and house supervisor coverage
- Nurse aides are on the unit at a 1:10 ratio
- Respiratory equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow oxygen
Schedule Requirements
- Every other weekend
- 2 of the winter holidays
- Standby may be required if extra staff are available
- Floating is required
Float Scope
- Primary facility is St Francis Hospital
- May float within Region I to St. Anne Hospital in Burien and Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle
