Overview

• Location: Grand Junction, Colorado
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Days, 4x10-hour shifts
• On-call: May be required; discussed during interview
• Float: May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications based on business need

Role Summary

• Performs scrub duties and maintains sterile supplies and sterile technique
• Assists in nursing care and preparation of surgical patients
• Assembles, organizes, and completes case carts according to doctor’s preference lists
• Provides instrumentation, suture, and supplies as requested; may assist surgeon by passing instruments during cases
• Counts sponges, needles, blades, and instruments using proper technique and established policy
• Assists with specimen care and preparation for laboratory analysis
• Handles specimens, implants, dressings, soiled instruments, contaminated materials, and sharps according to policy and standards of practice
• Assists with room turnover, cleanup, restocking, and care of instruments and equipment

Required Qualifications

• Valid CVOR Technologist license in Colorado
• CVOR Technologist experience within the last year
• 1 year of CVOR Technologist experience
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• High school diploma or GED, or graduation from a formal surgical technologist program

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year of clinical experience in an accredited hospital
• Cardio experience in resume/profile

Notes

• Training in the US military may substitute for completion of the formal surgical technologist training
