Respiratory Therapist (Respiratory Therapy)

Location: Peoria, Illinois Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Days, 12-hour shifts (0630-1900 or 1830-0700) Hours: 36 hours per week Unit/Department: Respiratory Therapy

Required Qualifications

• BLS (AHA)
• RRT or CRT via NBRC (RRT preferred)
• Active Illinois license, or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
• Experience in a large (300+ bed) critical care facility
• Experience in critical care
• Must not have worked at any facility in the health system in the past year
• Must produce a negative drug screen for all panels (drug-free campus)

Preferred Qualifications

• RRT (over CRT)

Patient Population

• General medicine, intermediate care, and ICU patients

Equipment

• Ventilators: Servo U, Servo i, LTV
• Bilevel: Trilogy
• CPAP: ResMed S9
• Heated high flow: Fisher Paykel

Local Placement

• Accepts clinicians with permanent addresses within 50 miles

Schedule and Coverage

• Every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday, days and nights)
• Every other holiday
• No call or standby requirement
• No floating; the role stays in Respiratory Therapy
• Team lead on each shift does not take an assignment and serves as a resource
• Hospitalist and intensivist available in house 24/7
• Call-off policy: equivalent of 12 hours every 13 weeks with no penalty or need to pay for the shift

Orientation

• 12 non-billable hours; guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation
• First 12 hours: EHR training, vent review, and specialty item review
• Second and third 12-hour days with a preceptor, then independent

Dress Code

• Any color scrubs; scrubs are not provided
