Required Qualifications

• BLS
• WA or Compact License
• 2 years of experience
• DaVinci XI experience
• Ability to circulate at least 2 of these specialties when light on cardiac: GYN/Uro/Vascular/Plastic/Ortho (total hips/knees)/Neuro/Cardiovascular/Thoracic/General (Breast/HPB/Bariatric)/Sports Med (Hand/Podiatry)/Kidney (or kidney/pancreatic) transplants, ENT, soft tissue - thyroid/parathyroid
• Must have ENT and DaVinci Xi (Gyn, Uro, General) if considered as a strong candidate with less than 2 years' experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Scrubbing skills
• Knowledge of multiple types of cases, including cardiac cases

Unit Details

• 22 suites, with capability to go to 26
• 25 rooms, 2 cardiac
• Average 50-65 cases per day
• 16 total different service lines
• Common cases include cardiac cases such as CABG, MVR, AVR, commando procedure, MAZE, and other complex valve repair
• Large and complex cases
• Robot-Davinci Xi used for Gyn, Uro, and General

Schedule

• 4 10-hour shifts
• Variable days and start times Monday-Friday
• Start times: 0630, 0900, 1100
• No self-scheduling
• Same start time kept consistent within the same week
• Tuesdays and Fridays have later start times for in-services and team meetings

Call

• 7 call shifts total per 4-week schedule
• Weekday call runs from end of shift until 7am the next morning
• Weekend call is 24 hours, 7am to 7am
• Call is rotated between staff and travelers
• Call response time is 30 minutes
• Call room is available

Floating

• None

Orientation

• 5-10 days
• Includes HR and OR leadership orientation, EHR training, and unit preceptorship

Additional Notes

• Scrub color is teal and provided
• Parking is at the traveler’s expense; garage parking is available with daily and monthly options, or travelers can use the Kings County Transit System
• First-time travelers are okay
