Schedule

• Shift: Night, 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-07:30
• Hours: 12 per day, 36 per week
• Call: Required, every other

Assignment Details

• Float required: General pediatrics and PICU. The employee will float to the area of need, not only the NICU.
• Unit accepts first-time travelers.

Required Qualifications

• Certified Respiratory Therapy - NICU, with 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) issued by American Heart Association
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure)
• Experience working with pediatric patients
• Experience managing Bubble CPAP
• Experience managing HFOV and HFJV ventilators
• Experience managing Servo U and Astral Home ventilators
• Experience with Epic

Onboarding Requirements

• Training: Facility HIPAA and EHR modules (about 8 hours), completed before start. Deadlines vary by location. Facility policy reviews are also required.
• Background and compliance: Background check within 1 year of start (updated annually), HHS/OIG and EPLS/GSA/SAM checks, primary-source online license verification, and government-issued photo ID
• Competencies: Competency exam within 2 years of start, medication/pharmacology competency exam, color blind test (annual), unit-specific skills checklist (annual), and technical certification verification as applicable
• Documents: Two professional references, employment application, and emergency contact form
• Health: Physical exam within 1 year of start; N95 fit test within 1 year, renewed annually (any N95 accepted); Tdap within 10 years (declination allowed); negative TB test within 1 year, with annual TB questionnaire; immunity titers or two vaccines for measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, and varicella (declination allowed for some); flu vaccine November 1 to April 30 (declination accepted); COVID vaccination record preferred
• Drug screen: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 1 year of start, excluding marijuana. In California, urine marijuana testing is prohibited. Saliva testing is allowed only if the client requires it.
