RN-MedSurg/Tele

Location: Goldsboro, North Carolina Employment Type: Clinical-Nursing Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Days, 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Role Summary

Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards. Reports to and is accountable to the Nurse Manager/Director. Coordinates and delivers patient care using the nursing process in a hospital setting.

Essential Duties

• Education: Identifies learning needs of self and patients, attends education programs, uses patient education materials, and assesses patient, family, and caregiver readiness to learn.
• Evaluation: Identifies expected patient outcomes, revises plans of care as needed, and takes part in interdisciplinary evaluation of care.
• Implementation: Cares for patients with complex problems, performs bedside point-of-care testing, follows organization and nursing policies, and prioritizes care by patient and family needs.
• Leadership: Develops professional growth goals, collaborates across departments, contributes to unit performance improvement, and promotes a safe, clean, and secure environment.
• Patient Assessment: Identifies priorities in complex situations and anticipates discharge needs.
• Planning: Collaborates with patients and families on care plans, uses multidisciplinary resources, and addresses cultural and ethnic considerations.
• Research: Reads applicable journals and brings questions to staff for review.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
• 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited school of nursing
• Experience with Epic
