Registered Nurse (RN) - Oncology

Location: Neptune, New Jersey Employment Type: Clinical Contract Length: 13 weeks

Schedule

• Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, 3 x 12 hours (12 hours/day, 36 hours/week)
• Unit: RN Med-Onc/Leukemia unit
• Weekends: Required when needed
• Holidays: Required when needed
• On-call: No on-call requirement
• Float: Possible
• Scrub Color: Navy

Job Summary

• Evaluates patients and assists physicians with patient care.
• Identifies patient needs and determines care priorities through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Develops, implements, and coordinates individualized plans of care through initial and ongoing assessments.
• Performs therapeutic nursing interventions and manages patient care.
• Documents care according to standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and clinical priorities.
• Advocates for evidence-based practice and supports adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery.
• Provides patient-centric care in alignment with the professional nursing practice model.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: 2 years of acute adult oncology experience, specializing in leukemia and lymphoma, in an inpatient setting
• Education: ASN
• Certifications and Licensure:

  • BLS (AHA)
  • NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license
• Hard Skills: IV skills, telemetry, chemotherapy administration, oncology experience
• Soft Skills: Empathy, compassion

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience: 5 years of experience
• Education: BSN
• Certifications: Telemetry; Chemo Certification with ONS
