Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg (Nights)

Location: Lebanon, New Hampshire Employment Type: Temporary Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Nights, 12 hours per day

Unit and Patient Details

• Unit beds: 19
• Patient population: Pediatric-Geriatric
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5, possibly 1:7 on nights
• EMR system: Epic
• Dress code: Any color scrubs
• Orientation: 8 hours (non-billable)
• Call, call-back, and charge: Not applicable for this need

Responsibilities

• Develop an individual plan of care, revise it based on the patient's response to treatment, and evaluate the overall plan for effectiveness
• Coordinate and supervise patient care as necessary
• Organize and prioritize job functions
• Use assessment data to identify patient care needs, including patient education and discharge planning
• Recognize and report abnormal assessment data, and incorporate findings into the plan of care, validating and revising expected outcomes based on assessment
• Accurately and legibly document all patient care activities, including wound assessment, patient care teaching, progress toward goals, medication administration, nursing flowsheets, and all assessment forms
• Delegate tasks to health care team members appropriately

Requirements

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Hampshire
• At least 1 year of Med Surg experience, with that experience completed within the last year

Schedule and Time Off Requirements

• Traveler must be able to work the posted schedule as needed.
• Traveler must not request shift accommodations during the interview.
• Requested time off must be noted and verified at upload. Time-off requests made after upload or interview will not be approved.
• No more than 5 days of time off will be accepted (less is better).
• Travelers may not take all holidays off. Travelers must work two holiday blocks (if scheduled or needed):

  • Thanksgiving Day/Friday after and the weekend after
  • Christmas Eve through Christmas Day and the weekend after
  • New Year's Eve through New Year's Day and the weekend after
• Local travelers who live within 50 miles of the facility will not be considered for this need.
