Role Responsibilities

• Perform transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms (exercise and pharmacologic).
• Position patients and adjust equipment to obtain optimal images.
• Analyze ultrasound data and provide preliminary findings to physicians.
• Measure cardiac structures and assess heart function using Doppler and imaging techniques.
• Administer contrast agents and agitated saline when required.
• Maintain accurate patient records and document procedures.
• Collaborate with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to support patient care.
• Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of ultrasound equipment, and adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
• Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives.
• Stay current with advancements in echocardiography technology and techniques.

Required Qualifications

• Echo Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Valid driver's license or state ID copy

Preferred or Optional

• Fit test: required for all travelers with make/model, completed within 1 year of start
• Influenza vaccine: required September through April. Medical or religious exemptions are decided case by case with a physician's statement or a signed statement from the traveler.
• Annual negative PPD: needed only if a 2-step PPD was not completed within the past year
• Annual TB questionnaire
• Positive PPD with negative chest X-ray: X-ray completed within 90 days of start and uploaded with the positive test results
