RN - Operating Room (CVOR)

Location: Lexington, Kentucky Contract Length: 18 weeks Employment Type: Clinical, Nursing Specialty: Hospital, Direct Patient Care (Nursing) Schedule: 1st shift, 5x8s, 6a-2:30p; weekends and holidays as needed; call required Hours: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week

Role Summary

The RN provides direct patient care on the unit, including assessments, treatments, admission, transfer, and discharge activities, patient and family education, and care coordination. The RN applies the nursing process, delegates and oversees team members, and participates in unit quality improvement activities such as patient satisfaction, patient falls, pressure ulcers, CAUTIs, and documentation auditing.

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky
• CVOR experience of at least 1 year, obtained within the last year
• BLS certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Operating Room (OR) experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments and develop prioritized problem lists
• Execute patient care therapies and procedures, and respond to changes in patient condition
• Facilitate timely discharge and provide discharge teaching with Case Management
• Provide input into patient and nurse assignments based on staffing, unit activity, and patient acuity
