Description
Respiratory Therapist
Location: Santa Maria, California Contract Length: 13 weeks (travel contract) Unit: Respiratory Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts (6 to 6:30; 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.), 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of experience or more
- Active BLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS, and RRT/CRT certifications
- Proficiency with bronchoscopy ("bronchs")
- Not working in the NICU unless the RT has experience in that area
Preferred Qualifications
- Travel experience
Responsibilities
- EKGs, ABGs, breathing treatments, vent management, high-flow NC, chest vests, and Vapotherm
- Ventilators: Puritan Bennett 840
Patient Population
- Adults, pediatrics, and neonates
Schedule and Coverage
- Charge RT available 24/7
- RT coverage 24/7
- Pharmacy coverage 24/7
- Hospitalist or intensivist in house
- Weekends: every other weekend
- Holidays: worked within the core staff rotation
- Call: not required
- Floor-specific orientation: up to 3 shifts
- First to float (every other weekend)
