Description

Cardiac Sonographer

Location: Ranson, West Virginia Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Days, 5 eight-hour shifts (0700-1530, Monday-Friday), 40 hours per week

Required Qualifications

BLS (AHA) certification
Specialty certification: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer - Adult Echocardiography (RDCS-AE) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), OR Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), within 12 months of hire
1 year of cardiac sonographer experience or equivalent

Position Details

Unit: Echo/Cardiac Sonographer department, 1 scanner/room
Imaging: Transthoracic echo
Volume: Average of 8 studies per day (6 outpatient, 2 inpatient)
Equipment: Philips echo machine
Systems: EPIC, PACS
Radiologist coverage: Cardiologist reader of the day available; no RRAs (Registered Radiology Assistants)
IV starts: Permitted if able; otherwise help can be requested
Weekend and holiday coverage: Weekend call rotation (7-1 Saturday and Sunday); on-call rotation for holidays
Float: May be required to cover other locations, including the main hospital's sister hospital (Berkeley Medical Center) and outpatient clinic sites
Attire: Light blue scrubs provided
