Description
RN Step Down
Location: Golden, Colorado Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Night, 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week, 3 shifts per week (1900-0730) Weekends: Yes On-call: Required during a regularly scheduled shift (details to be discussed during interview)
Unit Overview
- 32-bed unit
- Usually recruits for progressive care or intermediate care nurses
- Manages drips and acute patients
Responsibilities
- Performs independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions per state Board of Nursing standards
- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care
- Evaluates health status through ongoing collection and assessment of health data
- Performs health teaching and counseling
- Provides supportive and restorative therapy and treatment, directly or through consultation, delegation, supervision, or teaching of others
- Executes delegated medical functions and reviews and monitors therapy and treatment plans
- Refers patients for further evaluation or treatment
- Documents per hospital and regulatory guidelines
- May be required to float to other departments (within scope of competency and qualifications) based on business need
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse license in Colorado
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing, from an accredited school of nursing
- Minimum of 1 year of stepdown experience, with stepdown experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIHSS certification
