PCU RN – Progressive Care Unit

Location: Corbin, Kentucky Employment Type: Clinical, Nursing Contract Length: 13 weeks Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Schedule

7P–7A, 12-hour shifts
Full-time, 36 hours per week
May require on-call shifts at times
Requires weekend and holiday work

Role Summary

The RN provides direct patient care on the unit, including nursing rounds, assessments, and treatments; admission, transfer, and discharge activities; patient and family education; and care coordination and individualized treatment planning. The role follows the nursing process, evidence-based practice, and hospital policies, and includes delegating and overseeing team members, prioritizing care for multiple patients, and participating in unit quality improvement activities.

Required Qualifications

Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Valid, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience of at least 1 year, with experience within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Experience with wound care
Proficiency in IV therapy
