Med Surg/Tele RN (Telemetry)

Location: Show Low, Arizona Setting: Regional hospital in the White Mountains, with outdoor recreation and about a two-hour drive to Flagstaff and Phoenix Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Nights, 12 hours, 36 hours per week with a guarantee of 36 hours and 3 cancellations

Required Qualifications

• ACLS
• BLS
• NIHSS
• At least 2 years of experience
• Must be strong in Neuro and Cardiac skills

Preferred Qualifications

• PALS

Unit and Assignment Details

• Unit: 24 beds, MedSurg with Tele capability on all beds, heavy on Tele
• Patients: Adults only. Travelers do not take pediatric patients, which are assigned to permanent staff.
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:5 days, 1:6 nights, 1:4 pediatric. Ratios also vary based on acuity.
• Float scope: All MedSurg units and ICU, including MedSurg overflow patients
• Nurse managers do not provide patient care but do rounds.

Work Environment and Support

• Unit support staff: Tele techs, charge nurse, HUCs, and PCTs
• Hospitalist in house 24/7
• Respiratory therapist 24/7
• Pharmacy 24/7
• No IV team
• EMR: Sunrise Allscripts
• Scrubs: Not provided. Any color except all black.
