RRT Respiratory Therapy

Overview

Location: Brandon, Florida
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Hours per Week: 36
Most Recruited For: Registered Respiratory Therapists

Unit Details

Unit: Respiratory Therapy-NICU
Beds: 36-bed Level 3 NICU
Staffing: 2 Respiratory Therapists per day shift and 2 per night shift
Patient Ratio: Generally 2 therapists cover the 36-bed unit during peak volumes
Equipment: Drager VN500 ventilators, 3100A oscillators, Mallinckrodt nitric oxide, and Vapotherm
Documentation Systems: Meditech and NeoNotes

Schedule Expectations

Scheduled according to facility policy
Expected to work every other weekend and holidays on a rotating basis with hospital employees

Required Qualifications

Certified Respiratory Therapy - NICU with 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
ACLS
BLS
NBRC
NRP
PALS
Experience working with NICU Level 2 or NICU Level 3 patients

Typical Procedures

Attend high-risk deliveries
Ventilator management, including conventional and high-frequency oscillatory ventilation
Surfactant administration
Blood gas acquisition and interpretation
Nitric oxide administration
