Echo Tech/Cardiac Sonographer

Location: Plainview, Texas Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology Employment Type: Travel/Contract Contract Length: 13 weeks (approved for 26 weeks if the candidate is interested) Shift: Day, 4x10-hour shifts, 7:00 to 17:30 (10 hours/day, 40 hours/week)

Assignment Details

• Orientation: Reduced non-billable orientation, 0 hours (standard is 40)
• Float Scope: Does not float between units. May be required to float to another facility within a reasonable distance.
• Staffing Ratio: 8:1
• Block Schedules: Required
• Weekend Coverage: Required, on-call
• On-Call: Weeknights 5 pm to 8 am, Monday through Friday; 24 hours Saturday and Sunday
• 48-Hour Weeks: Not approved

Required Qualifications

• Echo Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, completed within the last year
• Ultrasound Technologist experience
• Experience working with OB patients
• Experience working with Vascular patients
• Experience working with Adult patients

Certifications and Licenses

• Allied state license verification
• National tech certification verification
• Facility certification requirements (such as BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, EFM, and others) are verified against the job's clinical track. The posting does not confirm which apply to this assignment.

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by an MD, NP, PA, or DO, stating the candidate is free of infectious disease and able to work with or without accommodation
• Negative TB test (IGRA/QuantiFERON, or 2 PPDs) within 12 months of start
• Measles, mumps, and rubella: 2 MMR vaccines at least 28 days apart, or positive titer
• Hepatitis B: signed declination, or documentation of a positive titer and vaccination series
• Varicella: 2 vaccines at least 28 days apart, or positive titer
• Tdap within 10 years (declination accepted)
• Flu vaccine or declination during flu season; all working candidates must provide one by 10/31
• COVID: copy of latest vaccination record preferred; declination not required
• 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start
• Fit mask test (travel only); any mask type is acceptable
• RespSafety clearance (travel, required annually)

Background and Screening

• Background check within 90 days of start, covering the past 7 years, updated annually
• Education verification (third-party), verifying the related degree, high school, or college education
• SSN trace, national and county searches, sex offender search, and Education verification as part of the background check
• Exclusion of the candidate for open or active hits, any felony case, more than one DUI charge, or any sex offender hit
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start, updated monthly
• Driver's license or state ID, Social Security card, and E-Verify attestation

Experience and References

• Minimum of 2 references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty; dates in month/year format
• Employment application covering at least the last 5 years of employment; gaps and overlaps must be explained
• Work history verification is only required when submitting a reference exception request

Training and Onboarding

• Annual regulatory modules (about 3.5 hours), assigned through the facility's learning system
• Regional core and specialty modules, with pre-start and annual recertification pathways
• Competency exam, as applicable by profession and specialty
• Skills checklist for the applicable unit, updated annually
• Color blind test, if requested by the facility or noted in the job order (score of 80% or higher required)
• Float policy acknowledgement
• Badge photo: passport style, neutral background, uploaded in JPEG format by the Monday before start
• Radiation badges are issued by the facility to applicable units
