Description
RN - Tele
Location: Brownsville, Texas Employment Type: Travel Contract Length: 13 weeks Hours per Week: 36
Unit Details
- Unit: Stroke Department, 3rd floor
- Beds: 24
- Patient Ratio: 7 patients to 1 nurse
- Equipment: Hoyer lift, bladder scanner, ultrasound-guided machine, glucometers, vital signs machine, blood warmer, otoscope, virtual sitter cameras, new beds, Responder 5 tracking system, computer in each patient room, computer on wheels
- Typical Procedures: Cerebral angiogram, left heart catheterization, PEG tube placement, endoscopy/colonoscopy, bronchoscopy, central line insertion, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, urologic procedures
- Floating Area: Medical departments
- Schedule: Every other weekend and on call as needed
- Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs, white lab coat
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Med Surg / Telemetry experience (1 year), including experience within the last year
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification
- NIHSS certification
- Experience working with neuro patients
- Stroke experience
- IV insertion skills
- Experience with wound care
