RN - Progressive Care Unit

Location: Corbin, Kentucky Specialty: Hospital - Direct Patient Care (Nursing) Employment Type: Clinical - Nursing Contract Length: 13 weeks Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Role Summary

The RN implements professional nursing practice centered on the whole patient and a caring environment focused on healing and wellness. Responsibilities include:

• Performing and documenting comprehensive patient assessments, developing problem lists, and prioritizing patient needs
• Providing nursing rounds, treatments, admission, transfer, and discharge activities, and patient and family education
• Coordinating individualized care plans, including discharge coordination with Case Management
• Delegating tasks and overseeing team members' patient care activities
• Recognizing and communicating changes in patient condition
• Participating in unit quality improvement activities and core measures such as patient falls, pressure ulcers, CAUTIs, and documentation audits

Required Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Valid, active RN license in Kentucky
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, with PCU experience within the last year
• Experience with wound care

• Medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, and use of medical equipment and technology
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and task prioritization in a fast-paced environment
• Clear verbal and written communication with interdisciplinary teams, patients, and families
