RN - Tele (Telemetry)

Location: Lafayette, Colorado Contract Length: 13 weeks Shift: Night, 12 hours (3 x 12-hour nights, 1900-0730) Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Unit and Duties

• 32-bed unit, averaging 3-5 patients depending on acuity and shift
• Performs independent and delegated nursing functions under the state Board of Nursing standards
• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care; performs health teaching and counseling; refers patients for further evaluation or treatment; reviews and monitors therapy and treatment plans; documents per hospital and regulatory guidelines
• May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications, based on business need

Schedule

• Weekends: maximum of 8 weekend shifts in an 8-week period, possibly fewer depending on staffing (usually about 5-6)
• On-call: no scheduled call shifts, but may be placed on call if the hospital does not need the nurse at the start of the shift. May also be required to be placed on call during a regularly scheduled shift.

Required Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license in Colorado (single state or compact RN license)
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association (ACLS/NRP/PALS as appropriate for unit or service)
• NIHSS certification
• 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• EKG competency and rhythm interpretation
