Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:10 (2 nurses for 20 patients) with 2 patient care technicians per shift

Patient Population: Adults (18+) admitted directly from the community for detox; stay averages 4–5 days before transfer to rehab. Common comorbidities include HTN, diabetes, substance use disorder, and psychiatric diagnoses such as bipolar disorder, depression, and anxiety.
Required Skills:
-
Strong assessment skills for detox symptoms (Med-Surg experience highly preferred)

Phlebotomy and EKG experience required

No IV therapy on the unit except in emergencies
Additional Details:

Charge Nurse: Assistant Nursing Care Coordinators (ANCC) manage the unit 24/7 and may take patient assignments.

Support Staff: 2 techs per shift perform safety checks, vitals, ADLs, glucose checks, EKGs, and 1:1 monitoring.

No telemetry monitoring; EKGs performed by RNs.

Floating: May float to Rehab, Clinic, or Psychiatry as needed (orientation provided).

Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

No call or standby required
