Experienced Med Surg/Telemetry RN Needed for Travel Assignment

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry for a travel assignment at a respected acute-care hospital in Englewood, New Jersey.

This opportunity is best suited for a seasoned RN who is comfortable managing a busy acute-care patient assignment, monitoring telemetry patients, recognizing changes in condition, and providing safe, efficient care during a 12-hour overnight shift.

Candidates must have at least 4 years of recent Med Surg/Telemetry experience in an acute hospital setting.

MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS

  • Active New Jersey RN License

  • Minimum 4 years of Med Surg/Telemetry RN experience

  • Med Surg/Telemetry experience must be in an acute hospital setting

  • Current BLS certification

  • Current ACLS certification

  • Ability to work 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

  • Available to begin the assignment September 8, 2026

  • Able to commit to the full contract through December 8, 2026

Key Responsibilities

As a Med Surg/Telemetry RN, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients requiring medical-surgical and cardiac monitoring. Responsibilities may include:

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and reassessments throughout the shift

  • Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms and recognize significant changes

  • Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols

  • Identify changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate nursing interventions

  • Provide care for patients with a variety of acute and chronic medical conditions

  • Coordinate care with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and other members of the interdisciplinary team

  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation

  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, discharge needs, and ongoing care

  • Follow infection-control, patient-safety, and hospital policies and procedures

  • Respond appropriately to emergency and rapid-response situations

Ideal Candidate

The strongest candidate will be a seasoned acute-care Med Surg/Telemetry RN who can transition quickly into a hospital environment with minimal ramp-up time. You should be confident managing multiple patients, prioritizing changing clinical needs, interpreting telemetry, and communicating effectively with the interdisciplinary team.

This is not an entry-level Med Surg opportunity. The facility specifically requires a minimum of 4 years of Med Surg/Telemetry experience within an acute hospital setting.
