Schedule: 
Day Shifts – 12.5 hours 
6:45 AM – 7:15 PM 
Every other weekend and holiday rotation 
Unpaid 30-minute meal break 
No on-call

Setting: 
78-bed general hospital – Geriatric Psychiatric Unit

Position Overview: 
Seeking a Behavioral Health RN to provide comprehensive care for geriatric adults with complex medical and psychiatric comorbidities. Ideal candidates will have experience in both medical-surgical and psychiatric nursing, capable of managing high-acuity patients and facilitating therapeutic interventions.

Patient Population:

<ul>
	<li>Depression, suicidal ideation, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder
	</li><li>Geriatric patients with multiple medical comorbidities
	</li><li>Total care patients requiring close monitoring
</li></ul>

Key Responsibilities:

<ul>
	<li>Provide direct care for patients with psychiatric and medical needs
	</li><li>Facilitate therapeutic groups and treatment planning
	</li><li>Manage patients under voluntary and involuntary status
	</li><li>Administer medications and monitor responses
	</li><li>Implement safety protocols including restraints and seclusion as necessary
	</li><li>Collaborate with interdisciplinary team for patient-centered care
</li></ul>

Requirements:

<ul>
	<li>Active Connecticut RN License
	</li><li>Minimum 2 years psychiatric nursing experience
	</li><li>BLS required
	</li><li>CPI or CMT certification
</li></ul>

Preferred Qualifications:

<ul>
	<li>5+ years of behavioral health experience
	</li><li>Experience with geriatric and dementia care
	</li><li>Background in med/surg nursing helpful
</li></ul>
