School 1:1 Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Location: Spanaway, WA
Assignment: 2026–2027 School Year
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | School Hours (No Nights, Weekends, or Holidays)

We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide dedicated 1:1 nursing care for a student in the Spanaway, Washington area during the 2026–2027 school year. This rewarding position allows you to build meaningful relationships while helping a student safely participate in the school day.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized nursing care in accordance with the student's physician orders and Individualized Healthcare Plan (IHP).

  • Monitor and assess the student's health status throughout the school day.

  • Administer medications and perform skilled nursing procedures within the Washington LPN scope of practice.

  • Support students with medical needs such as G-tube feedings, tracheostomy care, seizure management, diabetes care, or other specialized interventions as assigned.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of nursing care and student progress.

  • Respond appropriately to medical emergencies and changes in the student's condition.

  • Collaborate with the school RN, teachers, therapists, administrators, and parents to ensure a safe learning environment.

  • Accompany the student during classroom activities, transportation, field trips, and other school-related activities as needed.

  • Promote student independence while ensuring safety and adherence to the care plan.

Qualifications

  • Current Washington State Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing.

  • Current BLS/CPR certification.

  • Pediatric, school nursing, home health, or long-term care experience preferred.

  • Experience with tracheostomy, ventilator, G-tube, seizure precautions, diabetes management, or other medically complex care is a plus.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with the school healthcare team.
