Description
We are looking for a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) for an immediate travel opening in Charleston, SC. The right NMT must have 1 year of experience. Read below for additional requirements.
As an Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be responsible for the preparation of radiopharmaceutical agents and administering them to patients prior to using a scanner or camera to capture images. NMTs provide technical support to physicians or others who diagnose, care for, and treat patients and to researchers who investigate the uses of radioactive drugs.
TasksAs an NMT, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:
- Attain required approval and signature by nuclear medicine physicians
- Transfer, position, and instruct patients in preparation for procedures
- Operate the scanner or gamma scintillation camera.
- Perform procedures including injecting radiopharmaceuticals under the direct supervision of a radiologist
- Provide assistance to patients during procedures
- Ensure the environment is safe at all times for patients and staff by following safety and radiation disposal procedures
- Maintain accurate patient records
- Understand and use the McKesson PACS system
Must have 1 year of experience. Must have BLS, ARRT (N) National Certification with registration in Nuclear Medicine or NMTCB-CNMT, and state-specific licensing when required.
NMTs should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty. NMTs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
