Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Med/Surg Registry)

Key Job Functions

• Assessment: Perform thorough, systematic, and accurate patient assessments across all age groups (Pediatric to Geriatric).
• Clinical Skills: Deliver competent nursing care, support patient care delivery and team collaboration, and demonstrate knowledge of emergency equipment and procedures.
• Documentation: Maintain complete and accurate documentation of nursing processes, patient progress, and education in compliance with guidelines.
• Professionalism: Adhere to policies and procedures, demonstrate professional responsibility, and identify areas for clinical and professional growth.
• Patient Satisfaction: Interact professionally and courteously with patients, families, and coworkers, maintaining confidentiality per HIPAA.
• Safety: Follow National Patient Safety Goals, use universal protocols, verify patient identity with two identifiers, and apply safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics.
• Unit-Specific Duties: Understand conditions, procedures, and equipment related to surgical patients; individualize care based on procedure and anesthesia type; assess patient reactions and comprehension.
• Responsibility & Accountability: Prioritize and direct patient care based on patient needs and condition changes within the perioperative team.
• Patient Education: Assess patient understanding of surgical procedures and instructions; provide pre-operative and postoperative education involving patients and families.
• Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) RN Duties: Support timely completion of patient testing; evaluate PAT orders for appropriateness considering surgery type, patient age, and health status.

Physical Requirements

• As defined by Occupational Safety/OMS standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year nursing experience
• BLS certification (required)
• Active RN license (required)

Contract Length

• Approximately 7 weeks (52 days rounded to nearest week)
