Job Description

• Perform thorough, systematic, and accurate patient assessments across all age groups (Pediatric to Geriatric).
• Deliver competent and appropriate nursing care in the emergency department setting.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skill in emergency equipment and procedures.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of nursing processes, patient progress, and education.
• Uphold professional practice responsibilities, including adherence to policies and procedures.
• Promote patient and family-centered care with professionalism, courtesy, and confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals, including Universal Protocol and patient identification standards.
• Use safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics for self and patients.
• Understand conditions, procedures, and equipment relevant to surgical patients; individualize care accordingly.
• Provide patient education pre- and post-operatively, assessing patient understanding and involving family members.
• Support timely completion and evaluation of Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders.
• Contribute to the perioperative team by prioritizing and directing patient care based on patient needs and condition changes.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year experience in Critical Care, Cardiac, or Emergency Department nursing.
• Current RN License required.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification required for pediatric ER roles only.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred).

Physical Requirements

• As defined by Occupational Safety/OMS standards.
