Job Summary

Seeking a competent and professional Registered Nurse specializing in Labor & Delivery to provide direct patient care in a travel nursing capacity. The role involves comprehensive assessment, clinical skills, documentation, patient education, and adherence to safety protocols within a hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform thorough and systematic patient assessments across all age groups (Pediatric to Geriatric).
• Deliver competent and appropriate nursing care specific to Labor & Delivery patients.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of nursing processes and patient progress, including patient education.
• Demonstrate professionalism by adhering to policies, procedures, and promoting clinical and professional growth.
• Foster a positive environment focused on patient and family satisfaction, maintaining confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals, including Universal Protocol and patient identification standards.
• Use safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics for both self and patients.
• Understand and manage conditions, procedures, and equipment related to surgical patients, including anesthesia care.
• Prioritize and direct patient care based on patient needs and condition changes.
• Provide pre-operative and postoperative patient education and assessments.
• Support Pre Admission Testing (PAT) by evaluating orders for appropriateness and completeness.

Requirements

• Current RN License (required)
• ACLS Certification (required)
• BLS Certification (required)
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Physical Requirements

• As defined by Occupational Safety/OMS standards
