Job Summary

The Radiologic Technologist I performs diagnostic radiographic examinations with minimal supervision. Key responsibilities include:

• Producing diagnostic radiographic exams by positioning patients and selecting appropriate technical factors.
• Restricting radiation exposure to unaffected parts using cone and collimating devices.
• Performing portable x-ray exams in patient rooms, operating rooms, and emergency rooms.
• Identifying and marking patient films correctly.
• Developing exposed x-ray films using available processing methods.
• Completing patient requisitions with necessary details.
• Maintaining an orderly x-ray room.
• Preparing radiopaque contrast media and assisting physicians in administration.
• Performing administrative duties such as scheduling, patient instruction, and record maintenance.
• Assisting patients with mobility related to x-ray procedures.
• Lifting at least 5 lbs., pushing/pulling 10 lbs., and standing for a minimum of 6 hours daily.
• Adapting care to meet the specific needs of diverse patient populations.
• Adhering to organizational standards and competencies.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology.
• Completion of clinical and A.R.R.T. requirements.

Required Certifications & Licensure

• New Jersey State License.
• Eligibility to meet National Registry requirements and pass the examination.
