OR RN (Operating Room Registered Nurse) - Albuquerque, New Mexico
Job Summary
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process during assigned shifts.
- Ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care.
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individual patient needs and responses.
- Coordinate patient care through collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare team.
- Initiate and document appropriate protocols and standards of care.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and document accordingly.
- Identify and meet patient and family learning and discharge needs throughout care.
- Supervise LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel clinically.
- Complete patient population, age-specific, procedure, and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards.
- Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required.
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years current experience in a large Operating Room.
- Must be able to scrub.
- Must be a team player, flexible, and accustomed to a fast-paced environment.
- Must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment (prior travel experience required).
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Epic experience preferred but not required (training available on-site).
- Experience in Orthopedics, EENT (Eyes, Ears, Nose, Throat), and/or Vascular surgery is a plus.
Education Requirements
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required.
Certifications & Licensure
- State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License required.
- BLS certification required (American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross).
- ACLS and PALS certifications preferred if obtained (must be through recognized organizations).
- PALS preferred.
- ACLS preferred.
