Job Opportunity: Respiratory Care Practitioner RRT - Pediatrics

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Contract Length: 27 weeks


Job Description

Under general supervision, provide respiratory therapy services across all appropriate pediatric age levels and department areas. Responsibilities include:

  • Administer therapeutic treatments as prescribed by medical staff.
  • Record treatment information and patient responses in electronic medical records.
  • Serve as a resource to medical staff.
  • Perform invasive and noninvasive diagnostic testing and patient monitoring.
  • Provide age-appropriate respiratory care.
  • Ensure respiratory equipment is cleaned and maintained.
  • Maintain respiratory therapy records.
  • Participate as a member of the quick response team for cardiac and respiratory arrests.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Experience

  • No prior experience required.
  • Preferred: 2 years of respiratory care experience in a critical care setting.

Education & Licensure

  • Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
  • Licensed by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required within 12 months of hire.
  • Registered by the National Board of Respiratory Care.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required upon hire.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association required within 3 months of hire.

Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge of respiratory therapy procedures, techniques, and equipment operation/repair.
  • Clinical decision-making skills related to pulmonary and cardiac patient care.
  • Ability to interpret patient information to identify needs.
  • Ability to work effectively under stress.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain good working relationships.
  • Basic computer skills.

  • Prior travel experience is not required for this position.
