Job Opportunity: PACU RN

Location: Espanola, New Mexico

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process during assigned shifts.
• Ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care.
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individual patient needs and responses.
• Coordinate patient care in collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed or per protocols.
• Identify and address patient and family learning and discharge needs throughout care.
• Supervise LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel clinically.
• Complete patient population, age-specific, procedure, and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards.
• Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2 years of current experience in PACU specialty.
• Must have completed at least one 13-week previous travel assignment (prior travel experience required).
• Team player, flexible, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Education Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required.

Certifications & Licensure

• State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross).
• ACLS certification (American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross).
• PALS certification (American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross).
• Must pass Basic Cardiac Arrhythmias (BCA) testing during the first week of assignment (failure to pass results in dismissal).

Preferred Skills

• EPIC experience preferred; training available on-site.

This position requires a dedicated PACU RN with solid clinical experience and prior travel assignment experience, ready to work in a dynamic environment with flexibility to float between departments.
