Job Opportunity: CCC RN (Cardiac Critical Care Registered Nurse)
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Employment Type: Clinical - Nursing
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process for an assigned group of patients during a shift.
- Ensure safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care.
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individual patient needs and responses.
- Coordinate patient care through collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare team.
- Initiate and document appropriate protocols and standards of care.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and document accordingly.
- Identify and meet patient and family learning and discharge needs throughout care.
- Supervise LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel clinically.
- Complete patient population/age-specific procedure and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards.
- Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years current experience in a 12-plus bed cardiac critical care and/or intensive care unit.
- Must be a team player, flexible, and accustomed to a fast-paced environment.
- Prior travel experience required: Must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience with open heart surgery, LVAD, balloon pump preferred.
- EPIC electronic health record experience preferred but not required (training available onsite).
Education Requirements
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required.
Certifications & Licensure
- State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross.
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale).
- Must pass Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) testing during the first week of assignment; failure to pass will result in dismissal.
Additional Notes
- This role requires flexibility to float between departments and local sites within a 20-mile radius.
- The environment is fast-paced and requires strong teamwork skills.
