Job Summary

A Registered Nurse (RN) in the Operating Room is responsible for providing safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff, applies evidence-based practice, and participates in quality and safety improvements. The role includes assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans, as well as patient/family education and mentoring staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and reassessments, making sound independent decisions.
• Develop, prioritize, implement, and revise plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions.
• Provide and evaluate education tailored to patient and family needs during the stay and at discharge.
• Delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel; serve as a mentor/preceptor.
• Promote teamwork and communicate opportunities for improvement.
• Participate in quality, safety, and service process improvements and comply with regulatory standards.
• Engage in the Practice Governance model.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of acute care RN experience.
